Online Money Maker #12

We've all heard of getting paid for surveys and stuff, how much of it is legit ... who knows. I did however come across this site that pays you for your reviews. Your written reviews. This not a survey site.

But the catch is that you have to review software. BUT we all use software all the time. SO review some of it; just make sure that you do a good job. Be comprehensive, informative and relevant or you won't be published and if your review isn't published you won't be paid. So make sure you know your stuff .... or this might not be for you.

Software judge pays up to $50 per original written review, if your one of the better contributors you'll be allowed to submit up to 3 reviews per day... Not bad. Plus the opportunity to get free stuff like software registration keys and games.

Who doesn't love free stuff .... and money =)

I'm Baaaack

Ugh. It's been a long time since I have posted anything, a lot longer than I'd like.

So, I wished my self a 9 to 5 and I got it, well an 8-5 but you know. The "to 5" part I am soooo not used to. I'm used to getting off work at 3:30 or 4:00 and don't you know I miss that extra hour and a half of personal time. On the other hand I L-O-V-E love having a paycheck and health benefits. =)

Online Money Maker #11 ... Google, go figure

This actually sounds pretty neat. I had no idea, but Google pays people to take photos of local businesses for their "Google Maps". Google calls these people "Business Referral Representatives" but makes sure to let you know they are not actually Google employees.

Here's a link to their FAQ on the subject:

I'm not sure how much they pay, but really how hard to could it be? I could take pictures of businesses from my bedroom window! It can't be that easy, can it? ....

(ten minutes later)

HA HA HA ok I read a little more about it ... you actually have to go to these businesses and talk to them ... not exactly something I could do from my bedroom window, But still pretty easy, especially if your interested in working for yourself.

I wish people who actually do this stuff and are successful at it would comment about their experiences.

Online Money Maker #10 ... more like prize maker

I hadn't heard of this site until recently. Winzy. To be honest I haven't checked it out either. Apparently when you use winzy to search you are entered to win prizes.

So your not going to make an extra income with Winzy, but I figured it would be worth mentioning in case someone is interested.

I got a job a J-O-B!

Woo Whoo!

Online Money Maker #9 ... Sell Handmade!

So I started knitting a blanket a few months ago. Anyone who knows me just hurt their jaw when it hit the floor HA HA. I am not known for my domesticity. Anyhow my cousin's wife taught me how to knit. Just basic stuff, but knitting just the same. My blanket looks more like an 1/8th of a scarf and is like 12 feet long, it's going to take me a good couple of years to finish at this rate. But, it got me thinking; someone like my cousin's wife who can whip out a beanie during a phone call could make some decent pocket change with a hobby like that. So I started looking around (of course because I am a research nut) and I found Online Money Maker #9.

I'm sure a lot of you have heard of it, maybe not, but it seems pretty popular. This site has been featured on Rachel Ray, Martha Stewart, Fox Business News, The Today Show, Good Morning America and the list goes on. Sounds pretty popular huh?

Esty.com! Such a cool place for all things handmade. Just visiting the site makes me want to get crafty. I'm inspired to work more on my blanket although the only way I'll part with it is if someone prys it from my cold dead hands =). Any how you should check it out, I have totally fallen in love with that site.

I imagine with as widely publicized as it has been (check out their "esty in the news" page) it's become pretty popular, creating a great market place for you Crafty McCrafterson's to sell your stuff AND it's free to sign up!

I FREAKING LOVE IT! I know where I'm doing my Christmas shopping, they have the coolest stuff!

I've got butterflies in my tummy

Today I had an interview for a day job =) Accounting, it's such a great skill to have. I should find out next week if I get it or not.

Not bad though; I've been laid off for less than a week and already had an interview. A good interview at that.

I'm really not the work at home type, I'm going nutty already, I need to get out of the house. My fingers are crossed ... momma needs a 9-5'er ;)

I'm thinking ....

I wonder if these sites I'm recommending would pay me for my recommendations? I mean every one of these websites I have checked out and a lot of them I actually use, so it's not like they're false recommendations. I'm gonna have to look into that.

I may just have "Online Money Maker #9" on my hands =)

Online Money Maker #8 ... Ocho

Do you speak more than one language? I don't, but if I did I would definitely put that skill to use. Being fluent in another language is such a valuable thing and if you've got it by god put it to work. You could be making extra money or work from home sooner than you think as a freelance translator.

Check out www.proz.com/ - there are currently 187,242 translation jobs posted!

If you are looking to work from home or just earn extra money you may want to consider freelancing. Writing isn't the only thing you can do on a freelance basis; there are a lot of businesses big and small looking to cut overhead by outsourcing their administrative work, data entry & accounting. Of course you can also freelance ghost write, content stretch, edit and a plethora of other things.

Elance is a great place to find those jobs that people are outsourcing. Once you sign up for Elance you create a profile, go through their Elance University to make sure your competent and can use their site. Once you've done that you can search the jobs that are up for bid. When you find a project that seems like something you can handle you place a bid. If you are awarded the job your funds are placed in an escrow account until your project is completed and accepted.

So maybe writing isn't your thing. Are you good at taking pictures? I'm not, but here is a place I found you might want to check out if you are.

www.istockphoto.com

I stock photo allows you to upload and sell your photos on a royalty basis while letting you maintain rights to your work. So every time your photo is downloaded you earn royalties. What's really cool is that one photo has the potential to earn you money for years to come or for as long as you keep it posted for others to download.

Some Meat ... potatoes are coming

OK so screw AdSense for now ... it's giving me a headache, I think maybe I'm over complicating it.

Here's what I do know: These sites can make you money if your willing to put in the effort.

I haven't had much time for effort up until about 2 days ago when I was laid off from another job this year. So I'm still new to these sites, even though I've know about them for a while and checked them out a long time ago.

HubPages

Hubpages. It's a forum to publish your writing on. You can control your ads (DAMN YOU ADSENSE! ARRGH). They let you have affiliates like Amazon, Kontera, ADSENSE!, some others I don't remember. It's worth checking out, I'm going to put a little more time into it just to see if it pays off.

I need to remember to be patient.

Homepages friends. You get paid for your yahoo searches & if any of your friends sign up you get paid for their searches as well. It's not a huge earner. well, I guess it could be if you play the numbers game with it. But I figure since I search I may as well get paid for it & I know my friends search as well so why not get paid for that too.

I wish Google had something like this ... do they? *hmmm* I'm going to have to look into that.

Here's an article I wrote about it:

Online Money Maker Idea #1 ... ehow.com

So like I said I have been freelancing. Where I got my start is with ehow.

My Ehow page:
http://www.ehow.com/members/dalady.html

It's great for beginners. You can only write in a "how to" format and as long as you have 3 steps you have an article. There's no ads to manage, no fees to be a member, it's so simple & requires very little time or effort. Your paid per view, the more views you have the more each of your views are worth. The more keywords you have in your article the more your views are worth, although I hardly pay attention to the keywords and still do well.

Your earnings will be directly proportionate to your effort. So the more you put in the more you'll get out. I find that I write a few articles a month with very little effort or time spent to do it. The articles also seem to promote themselves. I put ZERO effort into promoting my articles and I still make a pretty penny, imagine when I make more of an effort ... EXCITING!

If you do sign up (and you should) make sure you have a paypal account for them to pay you and make sure you sign up for the WCP (writers compensation program) or your articles won't make any money. Lastly but most importantly is when you start writing pick topics that are relevant; relevant to current economic situations, seasons, holidays, environment ... then your articles will be more likely to be read.

Post a comment and let me know if you sign up, I'll check out your articles .... AND you'll get paid for it!

Can't beat that with a stick, now can ya =)

My Inspiration ...

So this year has been tough. Not just for me but for a lot of people. The economy is in the crapper. Unemployment rates are through the roof. The bottom has fallen out from under any number of industries including, obviously, the construction & mortgage industries.

Well, I'm one of the casualties of this economic crisis. Twice this year I have been laid off, twice. First from a company I had been with for nearly 5 years & Second just yesterday I was laid of from a company I had only been with for 5 months.

I've come to the realisation that I need to hustle. Oh sure I have dabbled in freelancing & made a decent amount, but it's time to diversify. It's ridiculous and undependable to only have one personal source of income. It's time to explore. I want multiple streams of income, so when one is lost it's not that big of a deal.

I've got a pretty good start and don't worry I'll share what I've learned so far. But bet your bottom dollar my good start is going to have a great ending!
